BAC WATER

Bacteriostatic water (BAC water) is a pharmaceutical-grade sterile aqueous solution containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative, packaged in multi-dose vials intended for use as a reconstitution vehicle for lyophilized research compounds including peptides and other water-soluble compounds. The benzyl alcohol component inhibits bacterial and fungal replication, allowing the reconstituted solution to remain microbiologically stable for repeated vial access over a 28-day period following initial puncture. BAC water’s formulation without additional salts or excipients preserves the solubility and stability of reconstituted peptides and is the standard reconstitution medium used in laboratory research workflows involving injectable research compounds.
