TB-500 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the active 17–23 heptapeptide fragment of Thymosin Beta-4 (Tβ4), an endogenous 43-amino acid actin-sequestering protein ubiquitously expressed in mammalian tissues and studied for its roles in cell migration, vascular development, and tissue repair. The active fragment retains the actin-binding domain of the parent protein, enabling it to sequester G-actin monomers, regulate cytoskeletal filament dynamics, and promote directed migration of endothelial cells, myocytes, and fibroblasts. Research spanning skeletal and cardiac muscle injury models, tendon and ligament repair paradigms, spinal cord injury, and corneal wound healing has examined TB-500’s capacity to accelerate tissue reconstitution and reduce fibrotic deposition across both healthy and aged experimental subjects.
